CTW’s Curse Never Dying “Durnehviir”

05/10/2018 Neutered Male Siberian Husky

Durnehviir came into our lives a few months after losing Zelda. A good friend of mine who was fostering him through a local rescue reached out to me, jokingly saying I needed to meet him. I had been on a wait list for a litter of puppies, so I wasn’t even considering an adult dog, especially a male. But just for fun, I met him. The whole drive home I convinced myself that this dog wasn’t the right one and that I just needed to wait for those puppies. But a few days went by, and I couldn’t let go of the feeling that he was right for us. I talked it through with close friends and family, and here we are, stuck with the goofy boy. When I adopted him, I actually found out that he is the litter mate of a friend’s dog! So we know where he came from and a little bit about his pedigree (he was back yard bred for his color... go figure). He’s slowly getting a hang of being a sled dog and acclimating to the country life. Despite the poor breeding practices he came out of and his poor structure, he is really enjoying pulling and has good potential!

Fun fact, this big boy has both front AND rear dew claws! The rears are not attached well though, so this is something we have to keep a close eye when he is working.
