Chasing The Dream…
Chasing The Wolves started with a girl and her dog: TJ and Zelda. But as they both got hooked on bikejoring and dog sledding, their kennel quickly grew into a mid distance racing kennel. Now located in the Iron Range of Minnesota, TJ focuses on community outreach and education, teaching folks about the wonders of both Alaskan Huskies and Dog Powered Sports.
Our goal is to connect with our dogs and our community. Without both the physical and online mushing community, we wouldn’t be where we are today, so we want to pay it forward and excite and educate newcomers to the sport.
If you aren’t doing it for the dogs, what are you doing?
Sled dogs are bred to work. For most of these dogs, if you aren’t fulfilling their needs, they will be getting into trouble and causing mayhem in your home. But this isn’t every sled dog. Some of these dogs don’t have the drive or desire to pull. We don’t force any dogs to pull. If they aren’t enjoying their work, we will chose different ways to stimulate our dogs, both mentally and physically.
